Forest Version - Tuesday 15th March

 

 Years 3 and 4 Feedback (4 girls and 2 boys)

Likes: the background image, the birdsong, the words on the screen, the music is calming, it is peaceful, the speed of the words gives time to read and think about them.

 

Dislikes: the background music, it’s too slow, it’s too long, “it feels like 5 minutes, not 2 and a half”.

 

Improvements: the image moves through the forest, moving trees or falling leaves.

 

Years 1 and 2 Feedback ( 4 girls and 4 boys)

Likes: the birds singing, the music and the voices, especially the “Keep Calm, Be Still” phrase.

 

Dislikes: the leaves rustling, the bird song, the talking and the still picture - “I want it to move”.

 

Improvements: birds flying, animals and picture moving. Extend the phrase, “You are loved” by adding “and valued”. Some children said it was too slow and one child said, “It’s not long enough for me pray”. 

 

 

SpaceVersion - Tuesday 15th March

 

Years 3 and 4 Feedback (4 girls and 2 boys)

Likes: the moving image - "it's like moving through space"; "I like the way it moves to you". It was calming. It didn't feel too long.

 

Dislikes: the blurry effect - "it hurts my eyes"; them all saying, "Breathe, it's creepy",

 

Improvements: speed up the blurring, have one or two voices saying, "Breathe"; maybe just have words on the screen without voices or quieter ones.

 

Years 1 and 2 Feedback ( 4 girls and 4 boys)

Likes: the music, the dark, the moving stars coming at you, the 3D effect and the different words.

 

Dislikes: the stars are too fast - "I'm worried about crashing into something!"

 

Improvements: it's too short, make it longer; it's too quick, slow the image down.

 

 

 

Both groups referred to the Original Reflective Time Video during the discussions. I asked what they liked about it.

 

Years 1 and 2 said: the pitch of the music; the candle and colours in the flame

Suggested improvement: have the candle blow out at the end.

 

Years 3 and 4 said: the candle; the piano music

Suggested improvement: change the font to make it clearer.
